This is not a mattress in three firmness flavours. On the product page you build yours decision by decision, and a running order summary totals it all before checkout. Here is everything the configurator asks.

What it's made of
Solid wool inside, your choice of cloth outside
There is no spring unit and no foam core to hide. The filling is layered wool, certified at material level by GOTS, OEKO-TEX and Woolmark, and the casing is a natural fabric you pick yourself.

Every mattress passes through the same sequence in our own workshop. Nothing about it changes for a custom size; the measurements do.
Wool preparation
Certified wool is opened, aired and weighed for your exact size and thickness.
Cutting the ticking
Your chosen cotton, linen or wool fabric is cut to your dimensions, standard or custom.
Filling by hand
Wool is layered into the casing until the mattress reaches its intended density.
Hand tufting
Long needles anchor the filling through the full depth, so it stays even through years of nights.
Finishing & checks
Edges are piped or closed plain, then the piece is inspected, aired and packed.
Living with it
A bed you look after twice a year
Wool asks very little. Give it a base that lets it breathe, keep sheets on top, and let the sun refresh it now and then.

The base
A slatted frame, nothing fancy
The mattress performs best on a slatted wooden frame, which supports it while letting the underside air. Keep gaps between slats under 2 inches so the wool cannot sag into the openings. No box spring needed.

Spot clean, sheets on, sun twice a year
Spot cleaning handles spills; always use sheets on top. Air the mattress in the sun twice a year for a natural refresh. An optional wool protector or removable cover makes the routine even easier.

Yes. Wool naturally balances heat and moisture, keeping the sleep surface temperate and dry rather than trapping warmth the way foam does.
Is it a good choice for allergy-prone sleepers?
Wool naturally resists dust mites and repels mould and mildew, with no chemical treatments involved. Many allergy-sensitive customers choose it for exactly that reason.
Does it need a box spring?
No. It performs best on a slatted wooden frame with less than 2 inches between slats, which supports the mattress while letting the bottom breathe.
How firm will it feel?
Firmness follows thickness: the configurator offers 3 to 7 inches of solid wool. Thinner builds sleep firmer; thicker builds add plushness while wool keeps its supportive, contouring character throughout.
How do I clean it?
Spot cleaning is the method: no machines, no soaking. Keep sheets on top, air it in the sun twice a year, and consider the optional protector or removable cover for the easiest upkeep.
How long does a wool mattress last?
Decades with proper care: often 30, 40 or more years, against the 7 to 10 typical of conventional mattresses.
